I am a pediatric neurologist and neuroscientist on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and on staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital. I am Board Certified in Neurology with Special Competency in Child Neurology, and Subspecialty Certification in Neurodevelopmental Disorders.

I have an extensive history of research and clinical practice in neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism spectrum disorders. I have published papers in brain imaging research, in physiological abnormalities in autism spectrum disorders, and in environmental influences on neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and on brain development and function.

electricsense.com - For me, as an electrosensitive person, the worst part about the "EMF thing", by far, is what it's doing to our kids.

It's seeing pregnant mothers talk happily and freely on cell phones. It's seeing young children, sometimes toddlers, use cell phones like toys. It's seeing the massive electromagnetic radiation overexposure that all our children are being subjected to.

One part of this overexposure is WiFi in schools. Thankfully we are now seeing, bit by bit, schools which are becoming " EMF aware". Schools like Pretty River Academy in Collingwood, Ontario who have made the decision to have their WiFi system replaced by a hardwired network.

Cambridge Education News - An alliance wants wireless technology removed from schools. Education correspondent GARETH McPHERSON examines the arguments ahead of a forum on the issue in Cambridge.

WIRELESS technology should be stripped from schools because it may be putting pupils at risk of cancer and memory loss.

That is the call from an alliance of parents, teachers, scientists and lawyers who want the world to wake up to the “real, unseen and often unrecognised threat” of wi-fi, which allows internet users to log on without wires.

bctf.ca - I am a teacher, and because of health concerns, I question whether I want to be exposed to Wi-Fi every day. I wonder if there are others who also feel that there is simply not enough dialogue taking place about this untested technology?

Powerwatch.org.uk - Dinsdag 23 oktober wordt in het Verenigd Koninkrijk een meeting georganiseerd met Prof. Dr. Olle Johansson, over het gebruik van WiFi op school.

Wifi in schools exposes children to microwave radiation 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, year after year. Children are known to be especially vulnerable to microwave radiation. And evidence shows that it may damage health. The introduction of iPads into schools will greatly intensify children's exposure.

Zwitserland: in het kanton Neuchâtel is WiFi verboden in de klas

Alerte.ch / magdahavas.com - In het kanton Neuchâtel wordt enkel bekabeld internet toegelaten in de klassen; in het licht van het voorzorgsprincipe mogen geen WiFi-zenders worden geplaatst.

In Zwitserland maar ook in Duitsland kwamen verder ook nog andere officiële waarschuwingen tegen WiFi op school. U vindt ze in terug in dit document (meer info).

In eigen land wordt WiFi bewust gemeden in het gehele stedelijke onderwijs te Gent.

Nederland: leerlingen ziek door draadloos internet

stopumts.nl - "Schoolbesturen zijn zo verblind door de uitstraling van de draadloze technologie dat zij geen oog hebben voor de gezondheidsklachten van hun leerlingen. Geen wonder als alle docenten met een smartphone rondlopen.

Terwijl het al jaren bekend is dat sommige medewerkers averechts reageren op de installatie van wifi, het Europees parlement opgeroepen heeft de blootstelling van de bevolking aan elektromagnetische velden te verlagen en de WHO de draadloze technologie in de klasse 'mogelijk kankerverwekkend' heeft ingedeeld zien de meeste schoolbesturen er geen enkel bezwaar in om leerlingen het studeren onmogelijk te maken.

Steeds meer scholen installeren draadloos internet. Nochtans zijn kinderen en jongeren het meest kwestbaar voor de gevolgen van elektromagnetische straling.

In onderstaande YouTube clip getuigen verschillende jongeren en ouders uit een Canadese middelbare school over de gezondheidsproblemen die zij of hun kinderen gekregen na de installatie van draadloos internet: hoofdpijn (meest voorkomende klacht), een gevoel van druk op het hoofd, concentratieproblemen, ...

In het fragment komt ook Prof. Magda Havas aan het woord, een wetenschapper die al lange tijd onderzoek doet naar de gevolgen van elektromagnetische straling.
